JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE

As part of the HR Compliance Team, the Human Resources Assistant I - Compliance will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports HR Compliance Team: performs triage on incoming emails directing emails to appropriate HR team for support
  • Works in support of HR Department in general, as well as assisting the Benefits, Classification & Compensation, HR Service, and Employee Relations efforts
  • Perform administrative duties such as identifying and organizing documents for electronic archiving, photocopying, data entry and organize materials, credential and licensing tracking
  • Assist in HR Compliance audit activities for both internal and external/program audits such as requesting internal reports and ensuring timely completion and submission of requirements
  • Assist with collection of employee records and timely responses for legal actions, such as record requests, by reviewing HR records and reaching out to departments as needed (AP, Payroll, IT)
  • Other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions are those key requirements, specific tasks, and job duties of the position that are required on a regular basis (using action words such as perform, responsible for, deliver, develop, etc).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • HR Service Team support, including employee onboarding, administrative duties, such as preparing and filing employee-related records, data entry into HRIS, verify all HRIS entries supported by documentation
  • Supports HR Department, assisting Benefits, Compliance, Employee Relations and Classification/Compensation efforts as directed
  • Performs employment and degree verification in support of Recruiting effort, eligibility checks for transfer and reclassification requests
  • Handles incoming employee telephonic inquiries, referring issues for resolution
  • Processes employee terminations, including final paycheck
  • Performs compliance tracking: background checks, TB screening, licensing, credentials, et cetera
  • Other duties as required

MANDATED REPORTER

As service providers to the underprivileged and vulnerable in our community, all employees are considered Mandated Reporters, and must report any instance of physical or sexual abuse to proper authorities.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications

EDUCATION:

  • High School or GED and some college coursework in Human Resources, Business, or related field

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in a Human Resources role

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
