JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
The Community Intervention Worker (CIW) serves as a liaison between youth, adults and the community to minimize acts of gang violence and to improve community relations. The CIW provides incident response and delivers Transitional Client Services. CIW have strong ties to the local community and existing relationships, being familiar with the gang culture of the target community.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ASSESSMENT/CASE PLANNING: working with Case Managers, delivers Transitional Client Services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Strategic efforts at Gang reduction in community – plan and execute gang reduction events and activities, conduct safe passage efforts
Maintain triangle of protocol with LAPD, and GRYD Office.
Advocacy for participants before other agencies/community settings
24/7 Gang Incident Response Coverage
Other duties as required and is subject to change at any time.
